Khaleda Zia's Air Ambulance Arrives in Dhaka for Treatment

The air ambulance, sent by the Emir of Qatar, arrived in Dhaka on Monday (January 6) to facilitate the transport of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia for advanced medical treatment abroad. The aircraft landed at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7:40 PM. Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP's Media Wing, confirmed the arrival.

Dr. Enamul Haque Chowdhury, a member of Khaleda Zia's Advisory Council, welcomed the air ambulance at the airport.

On Tuesday, Khaleda Zia will depart for the United Kingdom for her treatment. She will be admitted to the "London Clinic." Her medical board members, along with party leaders, personal staff, and more than 15 individuals, will accompany her during the journey. Dr. A Z M Zahid Hossain, a member of BNP's Standing Committee, shared these details in a briefing on January 6.

According to party sources, Khaleda Zia's medical team for the trip includes her personal doctor and BNP Standing Committee member Dr. A Z M Zahid Hossain, who has been her personal physician for an extended period. Along with him, several other doctors from her medical board will accompany her, including Dr. Fakhruddin Mohammad Siddique, Dr. Mohammad Shahabuddin Talukdar, Dr. Nur Uddin Ahmed, and Dr. Mohammad Al Mamun.

Additionally, Khaleda Zia's late son Arafat Rahman Koko's wife, Syeda Sharmila Rahman, will also accompany her. Among the party leaders joining the trip are Dr. Mohammad Enamul Haque Chowdhury, a member of her advisory council, party executive committee member Tabith Awal, and Khaleda Zia's personal secretary ABM Abdus Sattar, along with several personal staff members.

It is also known that Khaleda Zia's personal assistant Mohammad Masudur Rahman, protocol officer SM Parvez, and household staff members Fatima Begum and Rupa Shikdar will also be part of the entourage.

Dr. Zahid, during a press conference at BNP’s political office in Gulshan, stated that Khaleda Zia would travel from Qatar to London in the special air ambulance provided by the Emir of Qatar. The air ambulance will also carry four special doctors who will be part of her medical team.

Khaleda Zia, 80 years old, has been suffering from a range of health issues, including liver cirrhosis, heart disease, and kidney problems, for an extended period.
