The legal and judicial adviser to the government, Dr. Asif Nazrul, announced that over 2500 politically motivated and false harassment cases in Azairabad will be withdrawn within the next seven days. Dr. Nazrul made this statement during a meeting with journalists at the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs on Tuesday.
Dr. Nazrul explained that these cases, which were identified during the tenure of the Awami League government, were found to be politically driven or fabricated. He expressed confidence that all such cases could be withdrawn within a week. He added that the cases were distributed across 25 districts.
Additionally, the adviser mentioned that steps have already been taken to withdraw cases filed under the Cyber Security Act. He stated that many of these cases have already been retracted, with others expected to follow in due course.
Dr. Nazrul assured the public that the government is committed to rectifying injustices related to political and false legal actions, emphasizing the importance of restoring fairness in the legal system. He indicated that this move is part of a broader effort to ensure justice and eliminate politically motivated legal harassment. Further updates on the withdrawal process are expected in the coming days.
