Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has described martyrs, the injured, and those who have become disabled as national assets. Speaking as the chief guest at an iftar mahfil organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka Metropolitan South on Monday, he emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami does not engage in politics over martyrs, unlike others.

Addressing the families of martyrs and victims, Dr. Rahman said, "Jamaat-e-Islami considers martyrs and their families as its own. Those who lost their children, spouses, or parents last Ramadan shared sehri and iftar together. This year, they cannot enjoy sehri and iftar with the same satisfaction, remembering those memories. This pain is unbearable."

He announced that this year's Eid would be celebrated with the families of martyrs, the injured, and the disabled. Dr. Rahman also assured that the martyr memorial book, published by Jamaat-e-Islami, would be distributed to every martyr's family shortly after Eid.

The iftar mahfil, held at the Ladies Club auditorium in the capital, was presided over by Mohammad Nurul Islam Bulbul, Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan South and a member of the party's central executive committee. Central executive committee member Mubarak Hossain also spoke as a special guest.

The event was attended by central leaders and over 1,000 family members of martyrs, the injured, and the disabled. At the end of the program, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman led a special prayer, seeking justice for the victims of genocide and praying for righteous leadership in Bangladesh.
