The Chief Advisor's Office has issued a letter to the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs, instructing enhanced security measures for the Supreme Court premises, all courts and tribunals across the country, judges’ residences, vehicles, and associated personnel. The directive also requests a detailed report on the implemented measures to be submitted to the Chief Advisor's Office.

The letter emphasizes the need for comprehensive security coverage, including the Supreme Court premises, individual tribunal areas, and judges' personal spaces, to ensure the safety of judicial personnel and court staff. This initiative follows several recent security threats, including incidents of bomb attacks at the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court and the Khulna District Judge's Court.

In a parallel development, the Supreme Court administration sent a similar letter on December 5 to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner. Signed by Munshi Md. Moshier Rahman, Registrar of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, the letter highlighted the urgency of the matter, citing past incidents such as the murder of a litigant in the chamber of a judge in Comilla. These events have raised significant concerns about the safety of judges, leaving them in a state of fear and insecurity.

To address these concerns, Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique has directed an increase in security measures at all court premises, judges’ vehicles, and residences. He called for the deployment of round-the-clock police personnel and sufficient law enforcement resources to ensure uninterrupted judicial operations.

The letter further stresses the importance of these actions in maintaining the judicial system’s integrity and safeguarding the individuals involved in its operations. The Supreme Court administration anticipates prompt implementation of these directives to restore confidence and enhance the security of all stakeholders within the judicial framework.
