BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged the head of the interim government to govern with a firm hand to prevent any allegations of bias. Speaking at a discussion organized by BNP in memory of the martyred army officers of the Pilkhana tragedy, held at the IEB auditorium in Ramna on Tuesday, he emphasized the importance of ensuring stability in the country.

Mirza Fakhrul stated that certain groups are unjustly provoking the people and attempting to lead the country into chaos by raising unnecessary questions. He urged the head of the interim government to act decisively so that no one can claim he is acting with bias. He also reminded him of his global reputation, stating that it should remain intact through his leadership, and expressed hope that the interim government would maintain complete neutrality while implementing necessary reforms to pave the way for a fair and transparent election.

He further stressed that a stable and peaceful election is crucial for the future prosperity of the country. Addressing the nation, he called for an end to unnecessary debates and conflicts and urged everyone to remain united in order to achieve true democracy. He stated that the recent political shift in Bangladesh, which led to the removal of Sheikh Hasina through a mass student uprising, has created a new opportunity to rebuild the nation.

However, Mirza Fakhrul warned that efforts are being made to destroy this opportunity. He alleged that Sheikh Hasina, now based in Delhi, is conspiring to overturn the achievements of the mass uprising and create instability in Bangladesh. According to him, various forces are working to destabilize the country as part of this conspiracy.

He also highlighted that the interim government came into power through a student-led revolution, built on the sacrifice of nearly two thousand students and activists. He expressed the expectation that this government would fulfill the aspirations of the people and emphasized that establishing a true democratic system is essential for national stability. He reiterated BNP's long-standing demand for a fair and impartial election to establish a legitimate government representing the people's will.

Mirza Fakhrul criticized those who, in his view, are deliberately trying to push the country toward unrest. He accused certain groups of manipulating public sentiment, inciting mass protests, and attempting to create a state of disorder. He firmly stated that such actions are detrimental to the country's independence, democracy, and stability.

In his concluding remarks, he urged all parties to work together to protect democracy and ensure that Bangladesh does not fall into another cycle of chaos and uncertainty.
