Nationwide Campaign on ‘July Proclamation’ Begins Today

The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens’ Committee have commenced a week-long campaign on the ‘July Proclamation’ to raise awareness among citizens. Starting today, January 8, and running through January 14, leaders of the movement will distribute leaflets and conduct outreach activities across various districts in the country.

Zahid Ahsan, Office Secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, shared details about the initiative during a briefing on Tuesday night. According to him, the campaign has been systematically planned, with districts divided for daily outreach. He emphasized that this program aims to engage with people in every part of the country, with Dhaka Metropolitan hosting ongoing outreach efforts throughout the week.

Leaders and activists of both organizations will follow a centrally determined schedule to carry out their activities. Central leaders will also participate in the program in adherence to this plan. The campaign will unfold in phases across different districts each day.

On January 8, the campaign begins in Mymensingh Metropolitan, Khulna Metropolitan, Comilla District, Narsingdi, Barisal District, Chittagong District, Rangpur District, Rajshahi District, Sylhet District, and Chapainawabganj.

On January 9, activities will move to Khagrachari, Rangpur Metropolitan, Barisal Metropolitan, Feni, Mymensingh District, Tangail, Shariatpur, Madaripur, Natore, Kushtia, and Sunamganj.

On January 10, the campaign will target Narayanganj Metropolitan, Lakshmipur, Netrokona, Jhalokati, Meherpur, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Faridpur, Sirajganj, Moulvibazar, and Gopalganj.

On January 11, efforts will expand to Chittagong Metropolitan, Rangamati, Chandpur, Comilla Metropolitan, Jamalpur, Patuakhali, Bhola, Jhenaidah, Chuadanga, Dinajpur, Gazipur District, Naogaon, and Habiganj.

On January 12, the focus will shift to Sylhet Metropolitan, Cox’s Bazar, Brahmanbaria, Pirojpur, Narail, Pabna, Magura, and Lalmonirhat.

On January 13, the campaign will operate in Rajshahi Metropolitan, Barguna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Bandarban, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Rajbari, and Bogura.

The final day, January 14, will see activities conducted in Narayanganj Metropolitan, Sherpur, Kishoreganj, Nilphamari, Thakurgaon, Joypurhat, Panchagarh, Noakhali, Jessore under Khulna District, Gazipur Metropolitan, and Faridpur.

Earlier, on January 4, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens’ Committee jointly announced their plan to raise awareness about the July Proclamation. Their initial schedule for January 6 to January 11 included leaflet distribution, public meetings, and outreach efforts across the country. The campaign has now been extended to further strengthen their engagement with the public.
