The newly formed political party, National Citizen Party (NCP), has announced two programs for Tuesday to honor the martyrs of the Liberation War and the 24th Uprising. At 7:00 AM, party leaders will pay tribute at the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar, followed by a visit to the graves of the martyrs of the 24th Uprising in Rayerbazar at 10:00 AM.
In a notice signed by NCP Joint Member Secretary (Office) Saleh Uddin Sifat on Monday, the party confirmed the details of the programs. The events will be led by NCP Convener Md. Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, with central leaders in attendance.
Regarding the programs, NCP Joint Convener Monira Sharmin told the media, "The party's formal activities are beginning by paying respects to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War and the 24th Uprising." She also mentioned that an introductory meeting of the party's executive committee is likely to be held on Tuesday afternoon.
The NCP's initiatives aim to commemorate the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives for the nation's freedom and democratic movements, marking the start of its political journey.
