Dhaka, February 24 – A new political party, emerging from the leadership of students and citizens involved in the July-August protests, is set to be officially announced on February 28. The declaration will take place at 3 PM on Manik Mia Avenue, adjacent to the National Parliament House.

The announcement was made on Monday evening during a press conference by Sarjees Alam, the chief organizer of the National Citizens’ Committee. Addressing the media, he emphasized the significance of this political initiative, which aims to build a just and equitable future for the next generation.

“We firmly believe that the new Bangladesh, built upon the sacrifices of thousands of martyrs and the blood of millions of brothers and sisters, carries a responsibility for us. It is our duty to continue this struggle and ensure that the next generation receives the Bangladesh they deserve,” Sarjees Alam stated.

As part of this vision, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens’ Committee have decided to unite under a single political platform. Their objective is to challenge systemic inequalities and work towards a more inclusive and representative political landscape.

Sarjees Alam further highlighted that the formation of this political entity is a step towards realizing the aspirations of those who have long fought against injustice. The movement, rooted in the recent protests, seeks to address pressing socio-political issues and drive meaningful change through a structured and principled approach.
