Newborn’s Body Recovered from Dustbin in Jatrabari

On Monday, November 11, police recovered the body of a newborn from a dustbin located on Kalapatti Lane in Jatrabari. The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

According to Sub-Inspector Ifat Ahmed from Jatrabari Police Station, authorities responded to the incident after receiving information around midnight on Sunday. The newborn was found near the entrance of Kalapatti Lane and taken to Dhaka Medical College, where medical staff confirmed the death.

SI Ifat added that an investigation is ongoing to determine who abandoned the newborn in the dustbin. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area and questioning nearby residents, though no further information has been uncovered yet.
