BNP Announces Decision to Forbid Birthday Celebrations for Acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman; Disciplinary Action Threatened for Non-Compliance
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has decided not to hold any celebrations for its Acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman’s upcoming birthday on November 20, 2024. In a statement issued on Monday, November 11, the party advised all BNP leaders, along with its affiliated and associate organizations, to refrain from organizing any events. The announcement warns that any units or members who fail to comply with this directive will face disciplinary action.
The notice emphasized that the directive applies to all BNP branches and affiliated organizations nationwide. It states: “On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the birthday of our Acting Chairperson, Tarique Rahman, will not be celebrated. Non-compliance with this instruction will result in organizational measures.”
