BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has declared that no one should be allowed to conduct politics under the name of the Awami League in Bangladesh. He asserted that the party should be tried for its alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity. According to him, it should be decided through judicial processes whether the Awami League can continue to participate in politics and elections in the country.
Salahuddin made these remarks on Wednesday, February 5, at an event titled "National Unity and Current Realities" held at the National Press Club. The discussion was organized by the Regional Secretary Council.
He emphasized that the people of Bangladesh have rejected the Awami League through a student and public uprising. He declared that the party, as it currently stands, should not be allowed to engage in politics in the country. “We are now raising our voices on this matter
