President Emphasizes Human Welfare as the Core of All Religions

President Mohammed Shahabuddin has highlighted the principle of human welfare and service as the essence of all religions. He made this statement during a goodwill exchange program with members of the Christian community held at Bangabhaban on Wednesday, marking the celebration of Christmas.

Addressing the gathering, the President underscored Bangladesh's legacy of communal harmony. He noted that people of all religions in the country have historically practiced their faiths and traditions freely and in a joyous atmosphere. He expressed pride in this harmonious coexistence, emphasizing its role in fostering unity and progress.

President Shahabuddin urged all citizens, irrespective of religion or ethnicity, to work collectively for the nation's welfare. He called for reinforcing the bonds of communal harmony to build a just, corruption-free, and equitable society. He envisioned a modern and prosperous Bangladesh emerging through the joint efforts of its diverse population.

The President extended his Christmas greetings to the Christian community and wished for global peace and welfare. He expressed hope that the world would move forward on a path of light, prosperity, and harmony, driven by the shared values of compassion and service inherent in all faiths.

The event at Bangabhaban saw participation from various dignitaries, religious leaders, and members of the Christian community, underscoring the commitment to maintaining and strengthening Bangladesh's tradition of inclusivity and peace.
