Prime Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has instructed the immediate digitalization of daily operations and citizen services in four key ministries and institutions: Land, National Board of Revenue (NBR), Commerce, and Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA). The directive, issued on Saturday, emphasizes the need for automation, 100% electronic file usage, and the implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Special Assistant Foyez Ahmed Taiyab has been tasked with overseeing the execution of these initiatives.

The Prime Adviser’s Press Wing confirmed that the decision aims to streamline services and ensure efficiency by adopting digital signatures and enhancing internal processes. Professor Yunus has also stressed the importance of ensuring data interoperability among ministries to facilitate seamless information exchange. This includes replacing manual form-filling processes with secure API-based data sharing systems.

Foyez Ahmed Taiyab highlighted that while various ministries have developed their own digital systems, these have often resulted in isolated "silos" of information. He stated that the government’s urgent priority is to establish interoperability between these silos to improve service delivery and reduce redundancy.

In line with the Prime Adviser’s directives, a pilot program will be launched for select ministries within the next three months. Taiyab assured that every effort will be made to implement the program on time, regardless of challenges. The initiative is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency and transparency of public services, marking a major step toward a fully digitized government ecosystem.
