Minhaz Ahmed Piklu, a celebrated guitarist known for his contributions to iconic bands such as Rockstrata and Aurthohin, passed away on Friday, December 20, while performing at an event in Dhaka's Rampura area. The tragic incident occurred around 9 PM, leaving the music community in mourning.

Piklu's friend, Sipat Altamus, confirmed the news of his death. According to Sipat, Piklu was playing the guitar at a live event when he suddenly fell ill. He was rushed to a nearby clinic, but doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Piklu was a prominent figure in the Bangladeshi music scene, beginning his career in the mid-1980s as a guitarist for the hard rock bands Rockstrata and Jolly Rogers. His early work in these bands played a significant role in shaping the heavy metal and rock music genres in the country.

In the early 1990s, Piklu briefly joined Warfaze, another legendary Bangladeshi rock band. However, his most notable association came later, in 1999, when he became a member of Aurthohin. During his time with Aurthohin, Piklu contributed to several iconic tracks, including Oddbhut Shei Chele, Surjo, Rater Train, Guti from Hell, and Nirbodh, which remain fan favorites to this day.

The sudden demise of Piklu has left his fans, colleagues, and loved ones devastated. Known for his distinctive guitar playing and passion for music, Piklu’s legacy continues to inspire the Bangladeshi music community.
