The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds and rain in two divisions of the country on the first day of Ramadan. This is due to a seasonal low-pressure area currently situated over the South Bay of Bengal. Additionally, temperatures across the country are expected to rise slightly during this period.

In a 72-hour weather forecast issued on Saturday, March 1, and signed by meteorologist Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik, the department provided details about the expected weather conditions. According to the forecast, isolated areas in the Sylhet and Chattogram divisions may experience temporary thunderstorms with gusty winds and rain. In other parts of the country, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry, with partly cloudy skies in some areas. Daytime temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged, while nighttime temperatures may increase by 1-2 degrees Celsius.

The forecast for the following 24 hours, starting from 6 PM on Sunday, March 2, indicates that isolated areas in the Sylhet and Chattogram divisions may again experience temporary thunderstorms with gusty winds and rain. Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain predominantly dry, with partly cloudy skies in some regions. Daytime temperatures are likely to remain steady, while nighttime temperatures may decrease slightly.

Looking further ahead, the forecast for the 24-hour period starting from 6 PM on Monday, March 3, suggests that the weather will remain dry with partly cloudy skies in some areas. Both daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to decrease slightly across the country.

The Meteorological Department also stated that over the next five days, temperatures during both day and night are likely to continue decreasing. This change in weather patterns is attributed to the seasonal low-pressure system in the South Bay of Bengal, which is influencing the country's weather conditions.

The forecast serves as a reminder for residents, especially those observing Ramadan, to stay prepared for potential weather disruptions. Thunderstorms and gusty winds can lead to temporary inconveniences, and people are advised to take necessary precautions, particularly when traveling or engaging in outdoor activities.

As the holy month of Ramadan begins, the weather outlook highlights the importance of staying informed about changing conditions. The Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates to ensure public safety and preparedness.
