Chattogram, December 31, 2024: Shahjahan Chowdhury, Central Executive Committee Member of Jamaat-e-Islami and Ameer of Chattogram Metropolitan Unit, emphasized the need for collective effort in building a new Bangladesh. Speaking at a Rukun Oath Ceremony at the Jamaat-e-Islami Chattogram Metropolitan Office in Dewanbazar on Tuesday afternoon, he urged all citizens to stand united in the mission of creating a nation free from corruption, extortion, and terrorism.
In his address, Shahjahan Chowdhury reiterated that the journey toward a just and fair Bangladesh is ongoing. He called for sustained efforts and cooperation to achieve this vision, asserting that Jamaat-e-Islami is committed to fostering a society rooted in justice and free from moral and social decay.
He warned against those who incite chaos, stating that such actions would be met with a unified response from the people. Shahjahan Chowdhury envisioned a future Bangladesh built on principles of fairness and accountability, appealing to the public to actively support the movement for an Islamic governance system.
The event was attended by key members of Jamaat-e-Islami, including Central Majlis-e-Shura Member and Deputy Ameer of Chattogram Metropolitan Unit Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Secretary Principal Muhammad Nurul Amin, Assistant Secretaries Principal Maulana Khairul Bashar, Muhammad Ullah, and Faisal Muhammad Yunus. Other notable attendees included Executive Committee Members Dr. Siddiqur Rahman, S.M. Lutfur Rahman, Momtazur Rahman, Abu Bakar Siddiq, Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, Fakhre Jahan Siraji, Muhammad Amir Hossain, Mahmudul Alam, Mahbubul Hasan Rumi, Ahmad Khaledul Anwar, Sultan Ahmad, Alamgir Bhuiyan, Principal Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Faruque Azam, and Md. Selim.
Shahjahan Chowdhury concluded by urging the nation to unite in purpose, stating that the people of Bangladesh desire a government founded on Islamic values and justice. He called for cohesive efforts to ensure the realization of this vision.
