The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has temporarily suspended the decision to appoint a receiver for Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited. However, the High Court's order to appoint a receiver for other entities within the Beximco Group remains effective.

On Tuesday, November 12, a three-judge bench led by Senior Justice Md. Ashfaqul Islam issued this ruling. The court also directed a High Court division bench led by Justice Farah Mahbub to resolve the rule concerning the receiver appointment within two weeks.

The previous day, on Monday, November 11, the court scheduled the hearing date. Senior lawyers Fida M. Kamal and Mustafizur Rahman Khan represented Beximco Pharmaceuticals, while lawyer Muniruzzaman represented Bangladesh Bank, and senior lawyer Masud A. Sobhan appeared for the petitioners.

Earlier, on September 5, in response to a writ petition filed by senior Supreme Court lawyer Masud A. Sobhan, a High Court bench comprising Justice A. K. M. Asaduzzaman and Justice Muhammad Mahbub-ul-Islam ordered the appointment of a receiver to oversee all properties of the Beximco Group. The court also instructed that all properties of the group be attached for six months.
