Three New Advisors Sworn into Interim Government; Portfolios Reassigned

Sheikh Bashir Uddin, Mustafa Sarwar Farooqi, and Mahfuz Alam Join Interim Cabinet

In a ceremony held at Bangabhaban on Sunday, November 10, at 7:30 pm, President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath to three new advisors of the interim government. The newly sworn-in advisors are businessman Sheikh Bashir Uddin, filmmaker Mustafa Sarwar Farooqi, and Chief Advisor’s Special Assistant Mahfuz Alam.

With this induction, the total number of advisors in the interim cabinet led by Professor Yunus now stands at 24. Following the oath-taking ceremony, the interim government announced a reassignment of portfolios among the advisors. Sheikh Bashir Uddin has been entrusted with the Ministry of Commerce as well as the Ministry of Textiles and Jute. Mustafa Sarwar Farooqi will head the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, while Mahfuz Alam has not been assigned a specific ministry.
