A tour bus carrying 40 passengers from Dhaka to Khagrachari overturned early Thursday morning, injuring 20 people. The incident took place in the Alutila Rehabilitation Area of Khagrachari.
The bus, part of the Dhaka Tour Group's arrangement, departed from the capital on Wednesday night under the banner of Gomti Golden Express. It was heading toward Sajek with tourists, including teachers and residents from Rajbari.
As the vehicle approached the Alutila Rehabilitation Area in the early hours, the driver reportedly lost control, causing the bus to overturn. Passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries, prompting immediate rescue efforts by local residents, police, and fire service personnel.
The injured were quickly transported to Khagrachari Sadar Hospital, where they are receiving treatment. According to Dr. Md. Mir Mosharraf Hossain of Khagrachari Sadar Hospital, none of the injuries are life-threatening except for two or three cases that required additional care. He expressed confidence that all injured passengers would recover and be discharged after receiving treatment.
