Interim Government’s Chief Adviser, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, emphasized that Bangladesh is a player on the global stage, not a local one. He called for collective teamwork to build the dream and aspirational Bangladesh, stating that the police force is one of the most crucial teams in the country.

Speaking at a special meeting with 127 high-ranking police officials on the law and order situation at his Tejgaon office on Monday (March 17), Dr. Yunus said, “We are players on the global stage, not a small one. Bangladesh is an extraordinary country. We play on the world stage, and people applaud us. Bangladesh has stepped up now. We want to see it shine, and we can make it happen. We have the opportunity, and I keep trying to remind everyone to seize these opportunities.”

Regarding the role of the police force in the new Bangladesh, he added, “There’s no need to dwell on the past. We are ready for the new and will prove it through action. We don’t need to just talk; we’ll show it through our work. People will praise the new Bangladesh police force, and even those around us will acknowledge that the police have achieved something remarkable. They’ll say, ‘We didn’t think the police could do this.’ The common perception is that the police focus on the negative first, but we will prioritize the positive. Our entire force is committed to this.”

Dr. Yunus stressed that the police force is a structured organization with immense potential. “If we channel this strength in the right direction, we can achieve great things. This requires teamwork. It’s not about a single adviser giving orders; everyone must work together as a team. Among all the teams in Bangladesh, the police force is one of the most important,” he concluded.
