The weather across Bangladesh is expected to remain mostly unchanged during the night over the next 24 hours, with a slight drop in daytime temperatures. The Meteorological Department's morning update on Friday (January 17) forecasted that nighttime temperatures would remain relatively stable, while daytime temperatures might decrease slightly. Additionally, light to moderate fog may develop across various parts of the country from late night to morning.

According to the weather update, the synoptic situation indicates that the extended part of the subcontinental high-pressure belt is spread across West Bengal and nearby areas. Meanwhile, a normal seasonal low-pressure area is present in the southern Bay of Bengal, extending up to the northeastern Bay of Bengal.

As for precipitation, the forecast suggests that the weather will remain dry throughout the country for the next 72 hours (3 days) with occasional partial cloud cover. However, light to moderate fog may occur.

For Saturday (January 18), temperatures are expected to remain unchanged both during the day and night. However, by Sunday (January 19), nighttime temperatures may slightly decrease, and daytime temperatures could drop by 1-2°C.

In terms of temperature records, the highest temperature over the past 24 hours was recorded in Teknaf, Chittagong Division, at 31.4°C. Meanwhile, the lowest temperature was recorded in Srimangal, Sylhet Division, at 11.3°C. No rainfall was reported during this period, according to the Meteorological Department.
