A mentally unstable woman was successfully rescued from a floodlight tower near the women's gate of Baitul Mukarram Mosque, adjacent to Bangabandhu Stadium in Dhaka, where she had climbed approximately 60 feet. The rescue operation was initiated following a call to the national emergency hotline 999.
On Wednesday, January 1, at around 9:30 a.m., a concerned individual reported to 999 that the woman was perched dangerously atop the floodlight tower. Given the precarious situation, there was a significant risk of an accident.
Upon receiving the alert, members of the Siddique Bazar Fire Service promptly arrived at the scene. After a careful and coordinated operation, they successfully rescued the woman and handed her over to Paltan police for further care and assistance.
The swift response of the emergency services highlights the importance of the national emergency hotline in addressing critical incidents and ensuring public safety. Authorities are now working to provide the rescued woman with the necessary support and medical attention.
