Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has said that his party is awaiting the official roadmap for the next national election. He stated that once the schedule is announced, the BNP will activate its full electoral machinery, including finalizing party nominations. Referring to past instances when the BNP came to power through public support, Dudu expressed confidence that the people would once again vote them into office.

He made these remarks on Saturday afternoon while addressing a joint meeting organized by the Dinajpur District BNP at The Grand Dadubari Resort Center in Dinajpur Sadar upazila. The meeting was convened to discuss the party's ongoing strategy and grassroots preparations.

Shamsuzzaman Dudu asserted that the BNP remains committed to its political movement aimed at restoring people's right to vote freely. He promised that, if voted into power, the BNP would create employment opportunities for at least ten million people across the country. Emphasizing the importance of public enfranchisement, he stated that the party’s political movement would continue until this fundamental right is reinstated.

He also took a firm stance against the ruling Awami League, referring to it as a "tyrannical and murderous" regime. Dudu claimed that the government had been ousted on August 5 by the will of the people and accused it of destroying the constitution and endangering the nation’s sovereignty and independence.

In his speech, the BNP leader referred to Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus as the proposed head of an interim government that would oversee a free, fair, and impartial election either in December or slightly earlier. He suggested that under such a neutral administration, citizens would be able to exercise their voting rights without fear or interference.

The joint meeting was presided over by Dinajpur District BNP President Advocate Mofazzal Hossain Dulal, with General Secretary Ahmed serving as the event's moderator. Several senior BNP leaders were present at the gathering, including Principal Asadul Habib Dulu, the central organizing secretary for Rangpur Division, and Abdul Khalek and Md. Aminul Islam, both assistant organizing secretaries of the party’s national executive committee.

UK-based BNP Vice President Barrister AKM Kamruzzaman also addressed the event, along with central committee members AZM Rezwanul Haque and Akhtaruzzaman Mia. Leaders and activists from various local units and affiliate organizations of the Dinajpur District BNP were in attendance, reflecting a show of unity and mobilization ahead of the anticipated national polls.

The meeting served as both a strategic briefing and a reaffirmation of the BNP’s stance on electoral reforms, democratic governance, and restoring what it describes as lost civic rights.
