Nahid Islam, the convener of the National Citizens' Party (NCP), has reaffirmed her commitment to unity and called for improvements in law and order ahead of the upcoming elections. Speaking at an iftar event organized by the NCP in a Dhaka hotel on Tuesday (March 11), she emphasized the importance of political reform and the need to address the challenges posed by anti-Bangladesh forces.

The event, held in honor of anti-fascist politicians, professionals, activists, scholars, and prominent citizens, saw Nahid Islam stress that her party would never compromise on unity. "We will not step back from our stance on unity. Before the elections, it is essential to improve the law and order situation," she said. She also expressed confidence that elections could be held within the stipulated time if necessary reforms are implemented.

Nahid Islam highlighted the NCP's dual demand for both parliamentary and constituent assembly elections. She pointed out that anti-Bangladesh forces are still conspiring against the nation and called for the ruling Awami League to address these issues through legal means. "The Awami League must resolve these matters through the judiciary," she added.

During the event, NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain remarked that the political uprising in July and August had sparked a revolution among Bangladeshi citizens. He asserted that the new political landscape would not tolerate extortionists, violence, or tender manipulation. "In the new political era, there will be no place for extortionists, and no room for violence or tender manipulation," he said.

Hossain also called for unity among all anti-fascist forces in the country. "All anti-fascist forces in Bangladesh must come together to work for the nation. Our political missions and goals may differ, but we are all united in our opposition to fascism," he stated.

The NCP leaders emphasized the need for a collective effort to combat fascism and ensure a fair and transparent political process. Nahid Islam reiterated that the NCP remains committed to its principles and will continue to advocate for reforms that strengthen democracy and governance in Bangladesh.

The iftar event brought together a diverse group of individuals united by their opposition to fascism and their commitment to a better future for Bangladesh. The NCP's call for unity and reform reflects the growing demand for political accountability and transparency in the country.

Nahid Islam's remarks underscore the importance of addressing the challenges posed by anti-democratic forces and ensuring that the upcoming elections are conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner. Her emphasis on unity and reform highlights the NCP's dedication to creating a more inclusive and democratic political landscape in Bangladesh.

The event concluded with a call to action for all anti-fascist forces to work together to achieve their common goals. The NCP leaders expressed hope that their efforts would contribute to a brighter future for the nation, free from the influence of extortionists and other anti-democratic elements.
