Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed (Bir Bikram), a member of BNP's standing committee and former MP from Bhola-3, has accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of being the mastermind behind all political killings in the country.

He made the remarks while addressing a discussion meeting organized by the Bhola District and Lalmonirhat Municipality BNP on Wednesday (March 12) afternoon. The event, held at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium in Lalmonirhat, was part of an iftar and prayer gathering.

During his speech, Major Hafiz stated, "Many talk about elections, but there is no sign of elections. However, BNP demands elections by December. The current government does not want to hold elections. Dr. Yunus is a good man, but most of the members in his advisory council lack the qualifications. They have failed to manage their own ministries."

He further alleged, "Sheikh Hasina and her family have looted thousands of crores of taka from the country. Sheikh Hasina is the one who gave the orders for all political killings in Bangladesh. Under Awami League's rule, thousands of mothers have lost their sons. This terrorist Awami League must be taught a lesson. These criminals must be eradicated from society at any cost."

The event was chaired by Lalmonirhat Municipality BNP Convener Sadek Mia Jhantu. Among those present were Bhola District BNP Convener Golam Nabi Alamgir, Member Secretary Raisul Alam, Joint Convener Harun-ur-Rashid Truman, Fazlur Rahman Bachchu Mollah, Humayun Kabir Sapan, and Lalmonirhat Upazila BNP Member Secretary Shafiqul Islam Bablu, along with local BNP leaders and activists.

Major Hafiz's remarks have sparked strong reactions, with the ruling party yet to respond to the allegations. The BNP continues to demand early elections and accountability for what they describe as the government's failures and injustices.
