Six Hospitalized Due to Dengue: No New Deaths Reported

In the last 24 hours, six new dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country, while no deaths have been reported due to the virus. This information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday (February 15).

According to the report, among the newly hospitalized dengue patients, five are from the Chattogram division (excluding the city corporation area), and one is from the Dhaka South City Corporation.

During the same period, nine dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 1,283 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged. Up to February 15 this year, the total number of reported dengue cases stands at 1,385, with 62.1 percent of the patients being male and 37.9 percent female.

No dengue-related deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours. However, a total of 12 deaths due to dengue have been reported so far this year. In 2024, from January to December 31, a total of 101,214 dengue cases were recorded, with 575 fatalities.

In comparison, during the previous year (2023), a total of 1,705 people died due to dengue, while 321,179 were admitted to hospitals for treatment.
