The Bangladesh women’s cricket team has been announced for the upcoming ICC Women’s ODI World Cup Qualifiers, set to take place in Lahore, Pakistan, from April 5 to 19. The team, which failed to secure direct qualification for the Women’s ODI World Cup, will compete against five other nations in a round-robin format for a spot in the main tournament.
Notably, Ishmah Tanjim, who is yet to make her international ODI debut, has been included in the squad. Tanjim has previously played four T20 internationals for Bangladesh.
The qualifiers will feature Bangladesh, Pakistan, West Indies, Ireland, Scotland, and Thailand. Each team will play against the others once, with the top two teams advancing to the main event of the Women’s ODI World Cup.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to perform well in the qualifiers and secure a place in the prestigious tournament. Fans are hopeful that the team will rise to the occasion and make the nation proud.
