A total of 49 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, according to a bulletin issued on Monday by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). No deaths from the mosquito-borne disease were reported during this period.
The latest update provided a regional breakdown of the newly admitted patients. Of the 49, 17 were from areas outside the Barisal City Corporation, 18 from areas outside the Chattogram City Corporation, three from areas outside the Dhaka Division, five from the Dhaka North City Corporation, two from the Dhaka South City Corporation, two from areas outside the Khulna City Corporation, one from an area outside the Mymensingh City Corporation, and one from outside the Sylhet City Corporation.
During the same 24-hour period, 52 dengue patients were released from hospitals after recovery.
So far this year, a total of 2,756 dengue cases have been recorded that required hospitalization. Of these patients, 60.7 percent were male and 39.3 percent were female. A total of 2,555 individuals have recovered and been discharged from healthcare facilities. The death toll from dengue in Bangladesh for 2025 currently stands at 20.
The DGHS continues to monitor the situation and urges the public to take preventive measures against mosquito breeding and bites, particularly during the monsoon and post-monsoon seasons when the risk of dengue transmission increases.
