The government is moving towards regulating and monitoring the financial transactions of doctors and lawyers, particularly the fees they charge for their services. This announcement came from Salehuddin Ahmed, the Economic and Commerce Advisor, following a district administration conference on Monday morning.

Salehuddin pointed out that doctors often charge patients without issuing receipts for the payments received, which raises concerns about transparency and proper documentation. He highlighted that discussions were held during the conference about finding ways to ensure the money doctors collect is properly accounted for. One solution discussed was implementing a system where doctors provide official receipts for their transactions.

The advisor emphasized that the government is considering the possibility of digitalizing these financial transactions to make the process more transparent and efficient. This approach could help track the fees that doctors charge and ensure they comply with tax regulations.

Furthermore, the issue of lawyers' fees was also brought up during the discussions. Similar to doctors, lawyers sometimes receive payments in cash without providing receipts, leading to questions about how the government can monitor such financial exchanges. When asked by the media, Salehuddin confirmed that the issue of lawyers' payments and the need for receipts had also been a topic of discussion at the conference.

The advisor explained that the primary focus was on how to collect taxes from professionals, particularly doctors and lawyers, who provide services in exchange for cash payments. The government aims to establish a system that ensures these transactions are properly documented and taxed, promoting greater financial transparency and accountability within these professions.
