Mizanur Rahman Minu, an adviser to the BNP Chairperson, has indicated that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman may return to the country after Eid.
Speaking as the chief guest at a prayer and Iftar gathering organized by Ward No. 2 of Rajshahi city BNP on Monday (March 17), Minu said, "Party leaders and activists must remain active in the current election scenario. Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman, symbols of the country's independence and sovereignty, are likely to return home after Eid."
Minu praised the dedicated leaders of Ward and Thana BNP, stating that they are the true leaders of the party, having stood by the people at the grassroots level and understood their struggles. He highlighted that leaders at all levels of the party have faced persecution over the past 17 years during movements, struggles, and elections.
The Rajshahi BNP leader also emphasized the need to compensate the people for the losses they suffered under the oppressive rule of the fascist government.
Earlier, BNP Executive Committee Member and former City Mayor Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul asserted that vote theft would not be allowed in the upcoming elections. He urged party members to identify genuine leaders at the ward level and appoint polling agents accordingly. Bulbul vowed to guard every polling center to prevent any irregularities, including midnight voting or administrative manipulation.
The event included prayers for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, as well as for the party leaders and activists who lost their lives over the past 17 years and during the July movement. The Iftar gathering, attended by residents of Kashiadanga, Rajpara, Mollapara, and nearby areas, turned into a public rally, reflecting strong grassroots support for the party.
