Left-arm pacer Madushanka earns recall for the three-match ODI series starting July 2; Charith Asalanka to lead 16-member squad.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has named a 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match One Day International (ODI) series against Bangladesh, with left-arm fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka making a return to the national side. The series will begin on July 2 following the conclusion of the ongoing Test series between the two teams.
Madushanka last featured in an ODI match for Sri Lanka in November 2024, during a home series against New Zealand. His return marks a significant reinforcement to Sri Lanka’s pace attack as the team looks to gain momentum ahead of the T20 World Cup preparations later in the year.
The squad will be led by Charith Asalanka, with several key players retained from recent international outings. Among the notable names are Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, and spin all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga. Also included is young all-rounder Milan Rathnayake, who has been named in the squad subject to fitness clearance.
The three-match ODI series will see the first two games played in Colombo on July 2 and 5, while the third and final match will take place on July 8 in Pallekele.
Following the ODI leg, both sides will also play a three-match T20I series beginning July 10.
