The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted thunderstorms and rain in five divisions over the next 24 hours. Additionally, the department has indicated that there will be no significant change in temperature across the country.
According to the weather bulletin issued on Thursday (February 20) at 9:00 AM for the next 24 hours, isolated rain or thunderstorms are likely to occur in some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions. Meanwhile, other parts of the country may experience partly cloudy skies, with predominantly dry weather conditions. Light to moderate fog may also form across the country from late night until early morning. Both daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged nationwide.
Regarding the synoptic conditions, the Meteorological Department has reported that an extension of a westerly low-pressure system is present over West Bengal and nearby areas. Additionally, the seasonal low-pressure system is positioned over the southern Bay of Bengal.
In terms of temperature, the lowest temperature recorded in the country over the past 24 hours, from 6:00 AM Wednesday to 6:00 AM Thursday, was 13.6 degrees Celsius in Srimangal. Meanwhile, the highest temperature was recorded in Baghabari, Sirajganj, at 32 degrees Celsius.
