According to reports, people from 11 different locations along the Tista riverbank, including Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Rangpur, Kurigram, and Gaibandha, are expected to take part in the protest for 48 hours. The protest was officially launched by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the Secretary General of the BNP, who joined the event virtually. Additionally, BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is also expected to join the protest remotely, according to Asadul Habib Dulul, the party's Rangpur Division Organizing Secretary and the chief coordinator of the Tista River Protection Movement.
