AMM Bahauddin, President of Bangladesh Jamiatul Mudarresin and Editor of the Daily Inqilab, stated that 92% of Bangladesh's population is Muslim. He emphasized that those aspiring for state power must consider the Alim (religious scholar) community as a crucial part of their strategy.

Speaking at an Iftar Mahfil held at the Gausul Azam Complex in Mohakhali, Dhaka, on Monday (March 17), Bahauddin said, "In the coming days, Bangladesh is set to transform into an economic and demographic powerhouse. It will become the third-largest Muslim-majority nation globally."

He added, "Our society's discipline has been disrupted by crimes, including juvenile gangs. There is no crime in the world that is not occurring in our country. Many wealthy nations are lagging because they cannot maintain social order. Fortunately, Bangladesh's Alim community is highly disciplined."

Bahauddin highlighted the significant presence of religious institutions in the country, stating, "There are 500,000 mosques, hundreds of thousands of Qazis, and 500,000 Imams and Muazzins associated with these mosques. Alia Madrasas have 300,000 teachers and 7 million students, while Qawmi Madrasas also host millions of students. Those aspiring for state power must include the Alim community in their plans and consider their role seriously."

The Iftar Mahfil was organized by Bangladesh Jamiatul Mudarresin, a professional and non-political organization of madrasa teachers and staff, to honor Islamic scholars, educators, politicians, and government officials. Attendees included Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain, Advisor to the Interim Government for Religious Affairs; Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami; Barkat Ullah Bulu, Vice Chairman of BNP; Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad; Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General; and other prominent figures from Islamic organizations and political parties.

The event underscored the importance of collaboration between political leaders and the religious community to address societal challenges and achieve national progress.
