People’s Insurance Company Limited Holds 440th Board Meeting

The 440th board meeting of People’s Insurance Company Limited was held on Saturday, December 21, at the PHP Family Farmhouse in Bhatiari, Chattogram. The meeting was chaired by the company’s Chairman, Zafar Ahmed Patwary, with the presence of invited guest and former Chairman, as well as PHP Family Founder Chairman, Sufi Mohammed Mizanur Rahman.

During the meeting, the company reviewed its business activities for 2024 and discussed the annual work plan, targets, and budget for 2025. The sub-committee chairpersons of the board presented their statements on key objectives and strategies. Deliberations also focused on enhancing business growth, expediting claim settlements, and strengthening risk management protocols.

Speaking at the meeting, Sufi Mohammed Mizanur Rahman emphasized the importance of the company’s role in contributing to national welfare. He highlighted the hard work and dedication that have built the company into a renowned institution. Rahman urged all stakeholders to prioritize the company’s interests in their respective roles.

Director and former Chairman Amir Humayun Mahmud Chowdhury expressed pride in the company’s rich legacy and reputation as a leading institution in the country. He stressed the importance of continuing to uphold this legacy. Mohammad Ali Hossain, another director and former chairman, noted the significance of insurance in providing financial protection and mental peace in the face of unexpected events. He welcomed all attendees and thanked them for their participation.

Other participants in the meeting included Vice Chairman Mohammad Anwarul Haque, directors and former chairpersons Mohammad Ali Hossain and Amir Humayun Mahmud Chowdhury, and directors Kabir Ahmed, Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Patwary, Md. Azizul Haque, Jotsna Ara Begum, independent director Shovito Bikash Barua FCMA, Dilshad Ahmed, and MMG Sarwar, among others.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous commitment to ensuring the company’s continued growth and its contributions to the nation’s economic stability.
