Professor Mujibur Rahman, Naib-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament, stated that establishing justice in society is only possible by resisting injustice. He made this remark while speaking as the chief guest at a Hajj guideline workshop organized by Dhaka Metropolitan South Jamaat, held at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) auditorium in the capital.

In his address, Mujibur Rahman emphasized that combating social ills such as terrorism, extortion, and corruption is essential for building a welfare-oriented state. He reiterated Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to fighting all forms of injustice in the pursuit of a just society.

Highlighting the spiritual significance of Hajj, Mujibur Rahman remarked that the pilgrimage symbolizes a declaration of allegiance to the sovereignty of Allah, and that accepting man-made laws on Earth is incompatible with that declaration. He stressed that Hajj must lead to personal transformation and purification from past wrongdoings.

He further added that those who accept and follow man-made laws or ideologies, or who revere humans as leaders in place of divine authority, are effectively engaging in polytheism. He warned that believing in or practicing any ideology other than what has been decreed by Allah is akin to associating partners with Him, which goes against the fundamental teachings of Islam.

The workshop was presided over by Md. Nurul Islam Bulbul, Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan South Jamaat, and conducted by Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, the unit’s secretary. The keynote presentation was delivered by Maulana Khalilur Rahman Madani, Acting Principal of Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasa and a member of Jamaat’s central working committee.

Other notable speakers included Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, Central Executive Committee Member Maulana Izzat Ullah, Dhaka South Naib-e-Ameer Abdus Sabur Fakir, Assistant Secretary Muhammad Delawar Hossain, Professor Dr. Abdul Mannan, and Hajj pilgrims Maulana Jamal Uddin and Dr. Maksudur Rahman. Health-related advice for Hajj pilgrims was provided by Dr. Atiur Rahman, President of the Medical Division of Dhaka Metropolitan South Jamaat.

In his concluding remarks, Nurul Islam Bulbul expressed appreciation to the interim government for easing aspects of Hajj management and reducing costs to some extent. However, he emphasized that with greater sincerity, expenses—particularly airfare—could be reduced further. He urged the government to ensure safe accommodation, proper healthcare, and close supervision for Hajj pilgrims in future arrangements.

He also called on pilgrims to lead their lives in accordance with the comprehensive laws of Allah after becoming spiritually renewed through the pilgrimage.
