US President Donald Trump announced that India and Pakistan have agreed to a "full and immediate ceasefire." In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, he stated, "After long overnight negotiations mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire."

He also congratulated both countries for their "sense of judgment and excellent wisdom," adding, "Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

However, no official statement confirming the ceasefire has yet been issued by either India or Pakistan.

This announcement follows a night of intense clashes, including drone strikes and artillery fire between the two nations. Pakistan reported that India carried out attacks on three of its airbases, prompting retaliatory strikes on an Indian airbase and other targets.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that his country had given India an "appropriate" response.

India’s military accused Pakistan of launching extensive drone attacks along its western border, endangering civilian lives.

Both countries have previously indicated that they are willing to consider de-escalation if the other side takes the first step.
