Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have claimed the lives of 43 more Palestinians, with several others injured, bringing the total death toll in the besieged territory to approximately 43,800, according to Al Jazeera on Sunday (November 17). The number of injured has exceeded 103,601 since the attacks began in October last year.

Al Jazeera reported that Israeli forces continued their relentless bombardment on Saturday, killing at least 43 Palestinians across Gaza. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers attacked homes and vehicles in the occupied West Bank village of Beit Furik.

In a separate report, Anadolu Agency confirmed that Israeli airstrikes in northern and southern Gaza on Saturday left at least 34 Palestinians dead and many others injured. Medical sources revealed that three people were killed and several injured in an airstrike in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza.

The injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals, including Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital and Kamal Adwan Hospital, for emergency treatment. Eyewitnesses in Beit Lahia and Jabalia reported heavy artillery shelling by Israeli forces, which destroyed dozens of homes in western Jabalia. Massive explosions and thick plumes of smoke were visible in the area, indicating the ongoing military operations.

Medical sources added that three additional bodies were recovered from the rubble of a destroyed house in Gaza City.

The Gaza Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that the death toll since October last year has now reached 43,799. In a statement, the ministry also confirmed that over 103,601 people have been injured in the continuous attacks.

Palestinian health officials believe that over 10,000 individuals remain missing under the debris of destroyed homes across Gaza.

Despite a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, Israel has continued its aggressive military campaign in the blockaded territory.

The violence escalated after Hamas launched an unprecedented cross-border attack on October 7, prompting Israel to respond with relentless air and ground strikes. Hospitals, schools, refugee camps, mosques, churches, and thousands of other structures have been destroyed or severely damaged in the ongoing Israeli assault.
