In the past 24 hours, Israeli airstrikes in the besieged Gaza Strip have claimed the lives of 31 more Palestinians and left 79 others injured, according to local health authorities. The total death toll in Gaza since the onset of the attacks last October has now surpassed 45,000, with the number of injured exceeding 107,000.

Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera reported that the relentless assaults by Israeli forces have caused widespread destruction across the region. The Gaza Ministry of Health confirmed the updated casualty figures, stating that 45,059 people have lost their lives, while at least 107,041 have been injured since the beginning of the conflict.

The devastation in Gaza is exacerbated by the lack of resources and personnel to rescue people trapped under the rubble of collapsed buildings. Palestinian health officials estimate that over 10,000 individuals remain missing beneath the debris. The ongoing bombardments, which began after Hamas’s unprecedented attack on October 7 of last year, have caused extensive damage to hospitals, schools, refugee camps, mosques, churches, and thousands of other structures in the Gaza Strip.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is escalating rapidly. According to the United Nations, 60 percent of Gaza’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed. Moreover, over 2 million residents—approximately 85 percent of the enclave’s population—have been forced to flee their homes due to Israeli aggression. The widespread displacement and destruction have plunged Gaza into a state of despair, with basic amenities and shelter becoming increasingly scarce.

Efforts to rescue those trapped and provide aid to the injured are severely hampered by the ongoing violence and the blockade, which restricts the entry of essential supplies and equipment. The international community continues to express concern over the situation, urging for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a resolution to the humanitarian crisis. However, with no end to the conflict in sight, the people of Gaza remain caught in the crossfire, enduring unrelenting suffering and loss.
