BNP Joint Secretary General Habib-Un-Nabi Khan Sohail has accused the Sheikh Hasina government of seizing voting rights. He stated that those who dismantled Bangladesh's electoral system would not be forgiven. He urged the people to remain united, emphasizing that future MPs and the Prime Minister would be elected through the people's votes, and there would be no more "midnight voting."
Speaking as the chief guest at a BNP grand rally in Bandarban’s Rajar Math on Sunday (February 23), he criticized the rise in essential commodity prices, the deterioration of law and order, and called for the announcement of an election roadmap while resisting fascist conspiracies.
Habib-Un-Nabi Khan Sohail stated that the Sheikh Hasina government had committed countless atrocities and that the Awami League had engaged in all forms of criminal activities over the past 16 years. He affirmed that no one would be able to take away the people’s voting rights anymore.
He further noted that the 11 indigenous groups in the hill tracts, along with the Bengali community, all lived together in harmony as Bangladeshis, and their voting rights must be preserved.
At the rally, BNP’s Chattogram Divisional Organizing Secretary Mahbuber Rahman Shamim said that Bandarban District BNP was united, and whoever receives the party’s nomination with the paddy sheaf symbol in the upcoming election would win. He urged everyone to be prepared.
The rally was presided over by Bandarban District BNP Convener Saching Prue Jerry. Special guests included BNP Chattogram Divisional Assistant Organizing Secretary Harunur Rashid (VP Harun), Assistant Organizing Secretary Barrister Mir Helal Uddin, BNP National Executive Committee’s Tribal Affairs Secretary Mrs. Mamaching, Bandarban District BNP Senior Joint Convener Md. Osman Gani, Joint Convener Md. Mujibur Rashid, and Member Secretary Md. Javed Reza. Numerous leaders and activists from district and upazila levels were also in attendance.
